   Emerson College

Emerson College is a place where many different people meet for day meetings, retreats, festivals and courses in self-development, arts, movement, spirituality and land based themes. Our gardens (22 acres) invite you to go on walks to experience the wonder of nature in plants and trees. This creates a contemplative and safe environment which helps you to slow down and step out of your daily routine into a creative space.

Our facilities are simple, natural, with a lot of light; many sculptures by our students can be found in the grounds. We offer 50 single rooms and 9 twin rooms – all with shared toilets, showers and kitchens. Free WIFI is available in designated areas as well as an old fashioned library- computer-room, a sitting room and ample free parking.

We offer accommodation with freshly prepared lunches from Monday to Friday; the remaining meals are prepared by students in their house. Our lunches are vegetarian and we can also cater for gluten free, dairy free and vegan diets. We support agricultural practices that renew and sustain the soil rather than depleting it.  We are especially lucky to have a small biodynamic vegetable garden right on campus, providing us with fresh greens, lettuces, spinach, tomatoes, flowers and much more! Tablehurst farm – a community owned biodynamic farm – is just next door to us.

All students who stay on campus or simply join the lunches are asked to help with the lunch wash up once a week, keep the house they stay in tidy and clean

Residential and non residential students are welcome to join our festivals, talks, short courses, storytelling evenings and clowning performances. We have a rich programme all year round – some are free and others have a cost.
